Humanitarian project “A comfortable life”

3. Applicant organization proposing the project: State Institution «Babinichsky Social Boarding House «Zvyozdny»

4. Project objective:
creation of a universal safety system by installing wall-mounted handrails on the living floor, which provide comfortable support for movement and a protective barrier for walls.

5. Tasks planned for implementation within the framework of the project:  
 — determine the areas to be equipped and the locations for attaching wall-mounted handrails;
 — take the necessary physical measurements to determine the number of wall-mounted handrails to be installed;
 — purchase and install the wall-mounted handrails;
 — ensure and maintain the functional state of the installed support devices for the accessible environment to achieve the project goal.

6. Target group:
residents with limited physical abilities, limited mobility, and disabilities related to the musculoskeletal system and vision.

7. Brief description of project activities:
 — determination of common areas in the premises, toilets, bathrooms in need of installing wall-mounted handrails-bumpers;
 — conducting the necessary calculations to determine the number of wall-mounted handrails-bumpers;
 — studying offers on trading platforms for the purchase of support devices;
 — purchase and delivery of wall-mounted handrails-bumpers to the boarding house according to their purpose, performing several functions at once for various categories of low-mobility residents:
• help with moving in the hall, corridor;
• protect the wall from impacts and damage caused by wheelchairs, gurneys and other means of transportation;
• serve as a guide during the movement of visually impaired residents;
• support the safe movement of not only residents with impaired support apparatus functions, with limited mobility, but also residents with injuries or in the post-operative period, as well as elderly residents.
 — installation of wall-mounted handrails-bumpers.

Expected results of the project.

The installed wall-mounted handrails will ensure safe and comfortable movement through the hall and corridor of the floor, while protecting the walls and corners from damage.
The installed equipment will help adapt the space for the target group of residents and provide additional support for individuals in various everyday situations on the floor.
